1. About these terms
These terms explain how The Sacred Temple works and what we each agree to when you create an account, become a member, book a gathering or use our app. Please read them alongside our privacy policy.
The Sacred Temple is created and run by Emma Penman (known in the Temple as Emma Rose), a sole trader based in the UK. In these terms, “we”, “us” and “our” mean The Sacred Temple, and “you” means you, the member or visitor. You can reach us at hello@sacred-temple.uk.
2. In short
- Awakening membership is free. Remembrance is a monthly subscription that renews until you cancel.
- You can cancel at any time from My membership, and you keep access until the end of the period you have paid for.
- You have 14 days from joining to change your mind, as set out below.
- When you join, you are added to our newsletter. You can unsubscribe at any time.
- Healing, readings and guidance in the Temple are spiritual and complementary, for reflection only. They are not medical, psychological, legal or financial advice, and you remain responsible for your own wellbeing and choices.
- Paid gathering tickets can be refunded up to 48 hours before the start.
- Everything in the Temple, including the oracle cards, teachings and music, is for your own personal use. Please do not share or copy it.
3. Your account
You must be 18 or over to create an account. Please give accurate details and keep them up to date, keep your login private, and use your account only for yourself. You are responsible for anything done through your account, so let us know straight away if you think someone else has used it.
4. Emails from the Temple
When you join the Temple at any level, you will be added to our newsletter so you receive news of each month’s theme, gatherings and new offerings. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link at the bottom of every email, and this will not affect your membership.
We will also send you emails about your account, such as booking confirmations, payment receipts and important changes. These are part of your membership, so they continue for as long as you have an account.
5. Membership levels
Awakening is free and includes this month’s theme, the card of the month, affirmations, journal prompts and one Sacred Oracle reading a day.
Remembrance is a paid monthly membership. It includes everything in Awakening plus unlimited oracle readings, your private journal, weekly remote healing, free places at members’ gatherings, Temple music and the other benefits shown on our membership page when you join.
Embodiment will be offered when it opens, on the terms shown at that time.
The Temple is a living space, so the teachings, practices and features inside each level will grow and change over time. We will never remove the core of what you have paid for during a period you have already paid for.
6. Payments and renewals
Paid memberships are taken monthly in advance by card through our payment provider, Stripe. We never see or store your full card details.
Your membership renews automatically each month on the same date until you cancel. Any introductory price applies for as long as your membership continues without a break.
If we change the price of a membership, we will tell you by email at least 30 days before the new price applies to you, so you can cancel first if you wish. If a payment fails, we may pause your paid access until it is resolved.
7. Free trials and gift codes
From time to time we may offer a free trial or gift code, for example a free month of Remembrance. Where no payment details are taken, nothing is charged and the trial simply ends at the close of the free period. Codes are personal, can be used once per person, and may be limited in number or time.
8. Cancelling your membership
You can cancel at any time from My membership, or by emailing us. Your paid access continues until the end of the month you have already paid for, and you will not be charged again. We do not give partial refunds for unused days, except as set out in the next section or where the law requires it.
9. Your 14-day right to change your mind
If you join a paid membership, you have 14 days from the day you join to cancel and receive a refund, under the Consumer Contracts Regulations.
Because your membership starts as soon as you join, you ask us to begin providing it straight away. If you cancel within the 14 days, we will refund what you have paid, less a fair amount for the days you have already had access to the Temple. To cancel within this period, email us or cancel from My membership.
10. Gatherings, workshops and tickets
Some gatherings are online and some take place in person. Tickets are sold through our events page, and Remembrance members can book their member places free from My Temple.
You can cancel a paid ticket and receive a full refund up to 48 hours before the gathering starts. Within 48 hours of the start, tickets cannot be refunded, but you are welcome to pass your place to a friend if you let us know their name.
If we need to cancel or move a gathering, we will offer you a place on the new date or a full refund. Online joining links are personal to you, so please do not share them. Online gatherings are not recorded unless we tell you otherwise in advance.
In-person gatherings, including visits to sacred sites, are attended entirely at your own risk. Sites may be outdoors, remote, on uneven or slippery ground and exposed to the weather. You are responsible for judging whether an activity is suitable for you, for your own health, safety, belongings, travel and insurance, and for following any instructions given on the day. Please tell us before booking about anything that may affect your safety.
11. Healing, readings and spiritual guidance
Everything shared in the Temple, including healing transmissions, oracle readings, channelled guidance, meditations, activations, chants, music, teachings and journal prompts, is offered for spiritual exploration and personal reflection only. It is complementary in nature and does not diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any illness or condition.
Nothing in the Temple is medical, psychological, psychiatric, legal, financial or other professional advice, and it must never be used in place of it. Always seek the advice of your doctor or a qualified professional about any health or personal matter, and never stop, delay or change any treatment or medication because of anything you receive here. If you are unwell or in crisis, please contact your GP, NHS 111, or 999 in an emergency.
Energy work, meditation and spiritual practice can bring up strong emotions or physical sensations. You choose freely whether and how to take part, you remain responsible for your own wellbeing, choices and actions at all times, and you should stop any practice that does not feel right for you. Experiences are personal and results cannot be promised, so we make no claims or guarantees about any outcome.
12. Respect within the Temple
The Temple is a sacred, supportive space. Please treat everyone with kindness and respect, honour each other’s privacy, and keep what others share in gatherings confidential.
We may suspend or close an account, without refund, if someone harasses others, shares member content or links outside the Temple, misuses the site, or acts in a way that puts others at risk. Where it is fair to do so, we will talk with you first.
13. Our content
All content in the Temple, including the Sacred Oracle cards and their artwork and messages, teachings, meditations, journal prompts, music, chants, recordings and the design of this website, belongs to Emma Penman or is used with permission, and is protected by copyright.
You are welcome to use it for your own personal spiritual practice. Please do not copy, record, share, sell, teach from or publish it elsewhere without our written permission.
Some Temple music and artwork is created by Emma Rose in conscious co-creation with AI tools. We say so wherever it applies.
14. Your journal
Your journal is private to you. It is saved securely in your Temple account so you can reach it from any device. We do not read your entries, except where you ask us to help with a technical problem or where the law requires it. If you close your account, your journal is deleted with it, so please copy anything you wish to keep first. Our privacy policy explains more.
15. The website and app
We work hard to keep the Temple open and running smoothly, but we cannot promise it will always be available or free of errors. We may need to pause it for maintenance, and we may update, add or change features over time.
16. Disclaimer and limits of responsibility
We provide the Temple, its content, gatherings and app “as is” and in good faith. We take care with what we share, but we do not promise that it is complete, accurate, suitable for your particular circumstances, or that the website and app will always be available or free from errors.
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not responsible for:
- any decision you make, or anything you do or do not do, as a result of a reading, healing, teaching or other content in the Temple;
- any emotional, physical, spiritual, financial or other outcome of taking part, whether online or in person;
- any loss of income, business, opportunity, data or goodwill, or any indirect or unforeseeable loss;
- the acts or omissions of other members, or the services of third parties such as Stripe, Zoom, our email provider and our hosting company;
- anything outside our reasonable control.
If we are found to be responsible to you for anything, our total responsibility is limited to the amount you have paid us in the 12 months before the issue arose, or £100, whichever is lower.
Of course, nothing in these terms takes away your legal rights as a consumer, or limits responsibility in the few areas where the law says it cannot be limited, such as personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud.
You agree to use the Temple responsibly and in line with these terms. If you break these terms or misuse the Temple or its content and this causes us loss, you will be responsible for that loss.
17. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time, for example when we add new offerings or the law changes. We will show the date of the latest version at the top of this page, and tell members by email about any important change before it applies.
18. The law that applies
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If there is ever a disagreement, please contact us first so we can try to put things right. You can bring legal proceedings in the courts of England and Wales, or, if you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, in the courts there.
19. Contact us
If you have any questions about these terms, please email hello@sacred-temple.uk or use our contact page. We are always happy to help.
